Case Backhoe Well Matched for Utility Work

Jason Souliere, President and Owner of Ottawa-based Jason Souliere Excavation and Equipment Rentals, is very happy with his new backhoe: a Case 590 Super M.

“The length of the new booms is amazing,” says Souliere. “I have much better reach and can accomplish more, easier and quicker. Also, the controls are really smooth, making excavating and changing attachments quick and easy.” (Factory Installed Hydraulic Quick Attach)

The smooth control is achieved through the machine’s next-generation Case PCS (Pro Control System), which provides precise control and eliminates over-swing for accurate placement and faster cycle times. The Case 590 SuperM has a dig depth of 15 feet, 10 inches (4.83 metres), which is profitable to a company that does a lot of utility work.

Jason Souliere Excavation and Equipment Rentals works projects like hydro sub stations and sewer and water in the Ottawa region.

Utility work is also improved with the machine’s enhanced visibility and power. Incorporation of floor-to-ceiling, curved glass and a narrow backhoe boom provide great visibility to the trench or work area. The new axle on the 590 Super M provides up to 15 per cent more pushing power in first and second gears, meaning you get a fuller bucket more quickly so you can finish the job faster.

Performance is also enhanced through the introduction of a Tier 3 engine, which also decreases fuel costs, which is important in a climate of rising fuel costs

Jason Souliere Excavation and Equipment Rentals also rents out backhoe with operator to contractors who have the need for backhoe services but don’t have one in their fleet and rents out a tandem truck, mostly for the transportation of equipment.

“I really like what I do,” says Souliere. “I was born into it. Backhoes are in my blood. My Dad, who has a similar operation in Aylmer Quebec, has had Case backhoes since I was a child. They are great machines. Plus the service at J.R. Brisson is top notch.”

Souliere won a Harley Davidson from a draw organized by J.R. Brisson three years ago. The company is hosting another similar draw; see details: caseguy.ca/special-promotion. Contestants have One Chance For Every $25,000 Purchase for a choice between several cars and a 2010 Case CX36B Excavator.
